Food Rescue Program

Brother Benno’s Food Rescue Program is dedicated to doing our part to ensure that edible food is not going to waste. We play a large role in combating food insecurity and keeping our community compliant with California’s goals to reduce organic waste in landfills.

Our small fleet of refrigerated box trucks and a refrigerated van rescue 1,000’s of pounds of edible food from over 30 Food Generators (Grocery Stores, Restaurants, Events etc) six days a week.

All collected food is distributed directly to the community, either on site or through one of our dozens of partner organizations.

"The wonderful people at Feeding San Diego, North County Food Bank, Food Donation Connection, and the San Diego Food System Alliance have been actively educating and backing hundreds of organizations, including Brother Benno’s, with this food rescue initiative...There is no reason for anyone to go without food in our region, or anywhere in the United States for that matter.
