Scholarship Eligibility
Eligibility is based on funding source requirements
In general, priority is given students who
have been impacted by homelessness, poverty, or drug and/or alcohol abuse in their immediate family,
are In transition (aging out) from the foster care system,
have a demonstrated financial need,
meet minimum academic history/cumulative grade point average requirements
College & Vocational Training Scholarships
The Brother Benno Foundation offers scholarships to students enrolled in the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) programs at Mira Costa and Palomar Community Colleges. Availability is announced thru EOPS departments.
When funds are available, the Brother Benno Foundation may offer scholarships to local high school seniors who will continue their education at a community college or a vocational/technical school. Scholarship opportunities are announced through school counseling and career departments.
The application windows for Fall 2024 scholarships for MiraCosta and Palomar EOPS students have closed.
Please check with your college EOPS staff at the beginning of the Spring 2025 semester for updated information about availability, the application process, and submission deadlines.

Recovery Program Continuing Education
The Brother Benno Foundation sets aside funds, when available, to assist our recovery program men and women who are interested in returning to school or pursuing vocational training.*
Interested individuals are responsible for submitting an education plan and application to Brother Benno’s Community Outreach Services Team.
Upon approval, Brother Benno’s may pay for things like books, course fees, etc. to encourage and reinforce the merits of education.
