About Our Thrift Shop
The Thrift Shop sells new and gently used items at low prices everyone can afford. These items include: Clothing for the whole family, household goods, shoes, collectables, purses, books, movies, jewelry and sometimes designer clothing in the boutique. They also carry a large selection of gently used furniture at very affordable prices. Furniture purchased at the Shop can be delivered for a small fee!
A variety of sales are held throughout the month. 50%-off, End-of-the-Month sales are held the last Saturday of the month.
The Thrift Shop also collects clothing donations for those in need. These items are provided through our Clothing Room at the Center at no cost to homeless guests. Items include gently-used and clean, coats and jackets, pants, shorts, shoes, socks, hats and beanies, gloves and scarves.
Furniture Sales
Items range from basic household furniture at very affordable prices, to estate liquidation items that include antiques and collectibles. You never know what types of treasures you’ll find, as the inventory is always changing. For daily specials and new arrivals, please visit us on FaceBook.

Donations: If you would like to donate gently used, sellable furniture or home accessories, you can drop them off at the Thrift Shop Monday - Friday 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Saturday 10 AM - 12 PM (Please do not leave donations when the Thrift Shop is closed.)
If you live in the North County Coastal area and need to have your donated furniture picked up, please call (760) 967-7507 and leave a message. A driver will call you back to arrange a pick up.
Note: We are unable to accommodate large pick-ups from garage, rummage, or yard sales. We do not accept donations of used mattresses of any size due to Health Department regulations. In addition, Brother Benno’s does not have the resources to repair damaged or worn furniture, so only those items that are immediately saleable can be accepted. We thank you for your understanding.

Televisions or electronics (we can accept lamps that are new or in good condition)
Ceiling fans and light fixtures
Carpet cleaners & vacuums
Car parts including batteries, motors, tires, snow chains
Used hygiene equipment/products including toilet & shower chairs, foot baths, electric toothbrushes, water picks, clippers or razors
Building parts/materials including doors, used hardware, windows, fencing, pipes, sinks, toilets, faucets, plumbing hardware
Sporting equipment including skiing equipment, ice skates, roller blades, rusted bikes & scooters, bowling balls, golfing equipment, exercise equipment, helmets, and large weights
Gas appliances including lawn mowers and yard tools
Medical equipment including hospital beds, oxygen tubes or tanks, glucose monitors, CPAP machines, syringes and medicines
Weapons & ammunition including swords and hunting knives
Chemicals & fuel including oil, gas, insecticides, propane, lighter fluid, paint, open cleaning solutions
Loose/broken mirrors & glass
Loose batteries and light bulbs
Propane or helium tanks
Baby equipment/furniture including cribs, car seats, swings, potty chairs, bouncers, highchairs, play pens.
Beds & Mattresses including box springs, bed pillows, sleeper sofas
Disassembled furniture including bed frames
Broken/damaged furniture including furniture with visible stains, scratches or damage, rips or tears, wood rot, odors
Donations can only be accepted in boxes, bags, or disposable containers.
Service Learning Hours
Students who need service learning hours are required to tour our Center before starting their volunteer service. One hour of credit will be given for the tour. Please call our Center at 760-439-1244, ext. 104 to schedule a tour.
Once your tour is completed, you may contact Helen Parsons at: volunteers@brotherbenno.org to set up your volunteer hours.
